James Covington has pioneered wealth-creation strategies for African
Americans. Covington’s focus on wealth-acquistion for the African American
community puts him at the forefront of a movement that is advancing the
African American community from a focus on Civil Rights to “Silver Rights”
(i.e. wealth acquisition). Covington believes that acquiring Wealth is the most
important issue facing African Americans today, and he is engaging a national
movement to help African Americans begin new ventures that are focused on
acquiring wealth.
As a standard-bearer of this new Silver Rights
movement, Covington is helping to shepherd African Americans through the
shift from Civil Rights to Silver Rights. In leading the Silver Rights
movement, Covington holds Power Business Creation and Entrepreneur camps that provoke new
thinking and move African American entrepreneurs to action. Not a mere
motivational speaker, Covington focuses on real strategies while offering
genuine business opportunities to African Americans.
Covington perceives the wealth acquisition issue as an
outgrowth of the Civil Rights movement, the next logical step for the
African American community. Covington represents the new century’s Silver
Rights leadership.
Covington’s experiences in the corporate world shaped
his efforts as an entrepreneur. After serving a tour of duty in the US
Army, Covington spent eight years refining his sales, marketing and management
expertise at a major electrical utility company. With these experiences,
Covington entered the technology space, as the Executive Vice President and
co-owner of a software development company. He has shared his insights and
experiences as a university instructor.
For over twenty-five years, Covington has had a
singular focus on entrepreneurship. His work with the business organization
MyCEO Urban, his quarter century of
entrepreneurial success, and his commitment to wealth creation makes clear
that Covington brings the expertise necessary to help the African American
community move from Civil Rights to Silver Rights.
Covington is married to two times Emmy Award winning journalist and National
Association of Black Journalists' President,
Kathy Times. |
